The Sweet Beat:  Frostinistas Go Back in Time
Stop at Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum

It was frosting for all at the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum, a historic museum that models the one-room schools built in 1884 in Northern California.

The Schoolhouse annually sponsors an essay contest for fourth grade students throughout the state's public schools. The winners and their families gathered at the historic museum in Old Sacramento to read from their personal essays on the theme of "A Day in School in 1875.”

The essays were first judged in each school and then winners in both GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) and regular divisions advanced to the Schoolhouse for final judging.

The Frostinistas thanked the creative fourth graders, their families and museum docents and volunteers for keeping California's history alive!
