What's Happening:  Raley's Certified Agri Check® Program
Count on Our Fruits & Veggies

You may have seen recent reports of a study published by the Journal of Pediatrics linking the use of a common pesticide on fruits and vegetables with the rise of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) among children.

While this news can be disturbing for parents and expectant mothers, we want you to know that you can count on our fresh produce. Here’s why.

Our Agri Check® fruits and veggies contain no detected pesticide residues above 0.05 parts per million.

You may have seen the Agri Check® logo in your local store’s Produce Dept. and in weekly ads. Even though it’s a program that’s received national recognition in the food safety industry, we wanted to get down to the basics on what that icon means for you and your family.

In 1987, we did something no other major market had ever done. We started lab testing random samples of our produce for pesticides and we introduced Agri Check® – a program that’s still exclusively ours.

During the growing season, it all starts at the farm level. Our trusted Agri Check® farmers and grocers must record and report the application of pesticides on their crops. An approved third-party auditing firm monitors usage and procedures and they also randomly test samples of produce from our produce warehouse every week. If produce doesn’t meet the Agri Check® standards, we don’t sell it in stores.

We want you to know that our food safety standards exceed even those required by law – that’s important to us. And that’s important to your family.
